So the interview is done and now should we take the time to reflect on the answers we said correctly, the body language we emitted, or the "little" messages the interviewer gave back?

How about writing a Thank You card? address it to the school or to your interviewer?

If you had one done, is it important to write an e-mail or call to say, 'thanks, your school is the right one for me because...'?

Lets use an example like Temple...

Anybody? thoughts?

I didn't apply to Temple but I've done the thank you card thing for a few of my interviews so far. It's courteous, but it really won't help you much unless the person who interviewed you is actually on the admissions committee (in which case the only benefit is a little name-recognition). Lots of schools will have faculty do interviews and then write their recommendations for you, so by the time your card gets to them they've already submitted their evaluation to the adcom. It is a nice gesture though

I would address it to the interviewer and just say thanks and maybe mentioned how impressed you were with something about the school and that you are excited about the prospect of going there. Concise is key. Like I said, it likely won't affect the decision much anyway.

I would definitely do a SHORT thank you email to your interviewer... it just seems like common courtesy. Don't stress too much about how your interview went... as long as you showed confidence and a keen interest in attending the school (not just because you applied) - they'll speak highly of you to the committee.

some people also do thank you cards... but IMO, I think most professors would prefer something short and quick as an email. However, there is always a good argument for a thank you card...
