What type of volunteer work will help make me a better people person? It probably doesn't help that my volunteer exp so far includes dog walking and about to start at the zoo. but I want to be more caring of other's feelings needs wants etc and not so focused on myself. Any suggestions?

I have already been employed at a hospital for almost 5 years but limited patient care exp. I hated being a cna and didn't care much for the surg tech job either.

Any thoughts to this?

Spend a summer volunteering in a refugee, migrant worker or displaced persons camp. If that doesn't trigger some compassion and empathy in you nothing will.
