i'm a 2008 yale college graduate, and planning to apply to med school in 2010. HOWEVER, i am still missing one semester of calculus and one semester of physics lab. such a pain!! my alma mater was in new haven, but i'm currently living in socal, so it's easier (and cheaper) for me to just take the courses at ucla extension. the problem is, ucla is on the quarter system, soo--does this mean 2 quarters = 1 semester? I know 2 quarters probably > 1 semester, but 1 quarter is probably < 1 semester, and it's better to be safe than sorry, I guess.
another problem: i've already taken calculus ab (or the college equivalent) at uni. so that means i'm missing a semester of calculus bc. at ucla, however, calculus ab (or the equivalent) is one QUARTER, and calculus bc (or, again, the equivalent) is one QUARTER. argh!! since i need two quarters of calculus, can i just take calculus ab (along with calculus bc) over again and have that count? or do you think amcas is going to think i've taken the same class twice and disqualify me? it'd probably be easier just to take calculus bc at a school with a semester system, but those are usually private schools and right now, at six thousand bucks per course, it's a little over my budget.
