Alright well I guess I should have chosen a different profile name because I have waited for over a year and now I just have to wait longer. Anyway I just found out yesterday that I am number one on the waitlist at kentucky. I am also on the waitlists at Marquette, Detroit Mercy and Maryland. But I was pretty much writing off this year so I started studying to retake my DAT 2 weeks ago and was about to submit my application for next year but now I dont know what to do. The admissions directior sent me an email saying I have a "very good chance" of getting in based on years past. So now I dont know when I should resubmitt my application for next year since I dont want to pay 500 dollars for application fees nor do I want to not have my application in as early as possible. Plus if I send it in now and then get in its a big waste the money. And I guess for the DAT the only thing I can do is study and hope that I get a call sooner than later. Any advice?

This is a very easy choice. You could wait, but think about the long run. $500 now is nothing. It is worth not waiting an ENTIRE year doing nothing, in case you do not get in. Might as well apply now, if you don't get in then you can definitely improve your numbers. I think you should definitely apply. Unless you can somehow influenceit by convincing someone going to UK to not go to UK, lol.

Also if you don't get in, find a job you so can easily pay for all the money you spent on applications.

Well I plan on applying this year its just matter of when.... waiting a few weeks and hoping to hear some news by then or just doing it now and making sure I get my application in early... Because I have been in contact with all the admission directors and only plan on applying to the same schools where I got interviews from this year.

yeah, wait a few weeks, if nothing comes up hit submit. TONS of applicants didn't submit til August, Sept, even OCT and still got accepted. You got this. Just wait it out a little longer!

i was accepted off a waitlist, and they called me a week before saying that there was "a very good chance" that i would be accepted...and a week later, ta-da. you gotta believe.

If this is your second cycle, applying early next cycle isn't going to get you in. Problem's not your application date. Problem's that you're not highly desired in dentistry, at least on paper. Might as well save cash and wait it out. You'll probably get in, but you'll have to wait a long agonizing wait.

Just wait it out until at least the end of July.. Keep studying for your DAT. There's nothing wrong with submitting your app in August.

So I called a couple of schools and they said you should look to have your application in by mid august to end of August.... so is that applying by July 1st.
Dental school at Kentucky starts August 4th. SO I am assuming that is the last possible date I could hear unless they let ppl in for the 1st week of classes which would be August 11th.

Man, hang in there...I wish I was in your shoes...
I might just prep everything on the application, that way you can pull the trigger quickly without a problem.
I have a good feeling about it though...👍

Thanks LNinlove I sure hope your right..... Anyone know anyone that is not going to end up going to Kentucky

The problem is its getting real late in the cycle and I just dont see many reasons for anyone not to go besides something very tragic which I wouldnt hope upon anyone
