MDmayhem and Cincy: Would you mind posting your stats? Also, congrats!

32, 3.99 from a state school. good luck everyone!

Has anyone else gotten accepted? I know that I'm probably overdoing this question, but I'm really surprised that I haven't gotten an acceptance and it's starting to worry me.

This is really becoming a pissant.

Indeed. I take it from the lack of response that no one else has heard anything about campus assignments? Does anybody have any inside scoop as to when we may hear something? Anyone feel brave to email and ask? 😉

I'm trying to be chill about this and believe that it will all work out fine but I am just anal retentive enough to get periodically stressed out about it. Drives my husband nuts!

I wouldn't worry too much yet. I interviewed in early October and was beginning to feel the same way as you. I finally heard back on January 5th.

In the acceptance email I got on January 5th, it said the official letters with campus assignments could still take up to four weeks. I guess its because they gave everyone a chance to reconsider their campus options.

If I remember correctly, they (UASOM) said that the new campus assignments plus the PAPER letter would be sent out the beginning of this week.

:horns:

I think they (UASOM) said that the last day for the re-choosing of campus preferences would be the 8th and that the first round of letters would be mailed out "middle of January." Knowing these guys, I'm expecting a letter circa the 20th.

UASOM <3.

P.S. I imagine that since I put two choices, I'm DEF. getting my second choice after all this BS has gone down. Anyone else feel a little hosed?

You are probably right. Your probability of being placed in your second choice will be higher than your first choice. I can't see why this problem hasn't happened in the past as well.

For me, I'd rather just have the piece of paper saying,

"Welcome to UASOM. Pay your fee."

Just a thought.

+pity+

I love how it now no longer says you've been accepted...It just makes me feel eerie about the situation. I can't see why they put those accepted off the waiting list into the other campuses?

Come on... we just want the letter!

When did they tell you this?

They received all of the choices by the 8th. So, I would hope the letters would be sent a few weeks after the 8th.

JDovers explained that quite nicely.

Matt,
I scoped out the interview meal before they started eating. It looked like sandwiches to me. Yet mysteriously there were hush puppies and potatoes & fried fish in the lounge later that day.

There were a bunch of powerful looking old guys having meetings in Volker this week. I bet the Fish Market food was for them. If not, maybe this week's applicants were the out of state students that they really wanted to impress.... 🙂

I am wanting to apply to UAB after my Bio Major and will probably take the MCAT next year. Just wanted to get an idea. Thanks in advance!

Bah, you're probably right, but I prefer my conspiracy theory since it doesn't matter anyway 🙂 I got cold leftover fish, that's all that really matters. 🙂

Today I noticed that my status changed from "Campus Choices Received" back to "Accepted-No Campus Assignment Yet"; anybody else's do the same thing? Hopefully they'll send out campus assignments soon.

I too have a change in status. It's back to Accepted-No Campus assignment.

Does anyone know when the next admissions selections committee meeting is for UASOM?

I think they meet once a month. So they should be meeting again sometime soon if they haven't already met yet.

Ok. This should not be a difficult process. We all finished submitting our choices on the 8th, correct? Get a CS major at UAB to make a general program that scores our choices and shoots out the results. I'm fairly sure that a PHP or C+ or PASCAL or BASIC programmer could make such a program. This would allow the ADCOM to send out those wonderful letters sooner.

Just a thought.
