For those who have interviewed at Albany already, any recommendations on where to stay (I decided against staying the night with a student)?

I stayed at the Marriott Fairfield Inn...which is cheap, but I do not recommend...unless you can get a room on the side that is not facing the parking lot, because the heavy drapes on their windows close and, as a result, you get flood lights shining in on you allllllll nighttttt long!

I also suggest that you go to the student welcome thing the night before...it's a good chance to meet someone from the class and helps a lot with finding the interview room/waiting area on the day of the interview. I don't know about everyone else, but it would've been really hard to find if I didn't already know where I'd be going.

Good luck!

i did the same thing when i interviewed here, although in the past few years, i've hosted a lot of interviewees, and if i could go back in time, i'd stay with a 1st year. we'd go bowling, maybe to a bar if the kid seems receptive. and you get a personalized wake-up call!
