Last year they started 8/22 so that’s pretty consistent. Congratulations!!! For anyone who submitted around 7/2 and hasn’t heard back, me as well 🙂
For question 8, I was planning on writing about a significant shadowing experience I had. I'm not really sure how to describe "what aspect of that experience best equips you to make an impact in the medical profession." considering that it was mostly observation. I've written about how it has inspired me and made me committed to inclusive practice. Anyone have any insight on how to word this?

But schools give II's on a rolling basis - as they go through apps. Not at the end.

For what its worth, someone did report an Interview today. Their stats are 507 MCAT, 3.81 GPA.

Last year I submitted my secondary in early july and got an interview in January so don't stress too much about the timelines. Albany puts a majority of those that interview on the alternate list so rolling admissions doesn't play as big of a role at this school as it does at others.

Where did you hear this? I want to believe it but Admit shows that albany interviews approx 700 and waitlists only 200 (28%).

Yeah, but not every interviewed applicant reported their post interview decision. Can y’all point me to where it shows the number of waitlists? Even Albany’s school profile shows 700 interviews but nothing about their acceptances/WL

Thats the same data admit posted. Admit pulls its interview invite number and waitlist from aamc. You have to click the school statistic tab on admit to see it

I am from the midwest, no ties to NY!
I know the AAMC data shows different but last year at the interview they told us that after the interview 10% of interviewees are straight accepted, 10% are straight rejected and 80% are put on the alternate list which is gradually pulled from over the course of the cycle. I believe this to be true as well because a vast majority of those that interviewed last year and in previous years got alternate list before getting accepted. I think the AAMC data is outdated as Albany used to have a different system than using the AL many years ago.

I was on alt list until July when I got rejected last cycle. From what I know most people go on the alt list. I interviewed 9/8 this cycle and haven’t got an email yet.

IS A!!!
My partner goes here and they admit only about 10% of the class straight after the interview. The rest go on the Alt list and get accepted periodically throughout the cycle. I’m not sure why they do it this way or their intentions behind this but most of their class was accepted off the waitlist. And they send acceptances all they way up until July
What was the difference between last cycle and this cycle for you? Improved MCAT?
