Does anyone know if Albany is going to notify people soon? The MSAR states they notify around Dec 1st.

When I interviewed there, they said the first week of December. Here's hoping for good news...

were your interview invites via email or snail mail?

I interviewed in late nov - I remember that they told us they would determine cut-offs for accept vs. waitlist vs. reject around the end of the year...

I apologize if this has been asked/posted before, but I just noticed that my status at Albany went from YES Application complete and ready for review by our Admissions Committee, to "NO" it is not complete/ready for review. I know I WAS complete, so should I just take this as a rejection? It is no longer being reviewed because they made a decision?

They called last Friday to notify me they don't accept September MCAT's. 🙁

I wouldn't read too much into it if I were you. A few status pages have had problems in the past, including UB and Downstate. Just wait for the official status from the school to be sure. It's not over until it's over.
Best of luck!

I was complete at Albany in early September and I am still waiting to hear from them.

someone posted an acceptance in the acceptance thread

We are pleased to have had the opportunity to meet with you when
you visited the Albany Medical College for an interview. We
sincerely hope that you enjoyed your day and that your experiences
were all favorable.

As you know, we offer immediate acceptance to a number of
applicants each week during our interview season, which runs through
April. We wish to advise you that although you were not among that
group, your candidacy is still under consideration.

All interviewed applicants not immediately accepted are ranked
on the basis of their average committee vote following their
interview. (The vote and rank are confidential.) When we have
finished interviewing, we will draw, in rank order, from the pool of
applicants still under consideration to create a list of alternates.
Any vacancies in the class will be filled with these applicants.

We will be in touch with you should your present status change.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our
office.

-----Looks like I am put on hold at Albany. I was hoping I could get into Albany. Based on the above message it sounds like I won't hear anything from them until they are done interviewing in April? That is a long way away. Anyone know if you can find out where you stand on the list? I know they won't give your score, but maybe they can tell you if you are in the top third, bottom third, etc.....

Does anyone know how the "Under Consideration" process works at Albany. Is it an ongoing thing where the score we are given is reviewed periodically and the score ranking for acceptances is lowered as time goes by bringing in more students from the "Under Consideration" List? Or are we on this list until April after interviewing?

Has anyone ever come off the "Under Consideration" list before April?

You all just got the email too huh? Were you guys planning on going to Albany if you are accepted?

I got the acceptance email yesterday!

I have no idea.

I got the "under consideration" letter too. When I was at the interview, they said that they periodically lower their cut-off score as the spring progresses and continually accept new people they interview as well.

Keeping my fingers crossed...Good luck to everyone and congrats to the people who got in!

Congrats!! Question for you - did you see the "yes" on your status page next to "application complete and ready for review by committee" change to "no" at all? Seems to have done so for many people, but it appears as though it might be a glitch. Same for you, or no? Did you see a change to the online status site, or just receive the e-mail?

No, my status on the webpage never changed. It has said the same thing since I was invited to interview.

I recieved an email this morning. I interviewed there Nov 19, and got placed on the wait list today. Good luck to all. :luck:

bump

anything? anyone?

Don't know anymore from albany but I am going to withdraw from there even though I am in the under consideration group.

How did you find out that you're in the "under consideration" group? Did they tell you that when you call? I think it's just a generic message that they give out to anyone who calls. My status changes from "NO" back to "YES" again for the "Ready for Review" item. Like someone said, we will hear from them soon after the holiday break.

I got an email a couple of weeks ago. This was an under consideration post-interview though.

Was the hold letter sent by email or snail mail? It's a pre-interview hold, right? I can't wait to hear from them soon. Anything is better than dead silence.

This is what I was told last year-

If you are under consideration you are included every time the committee meets. They rank you by some score and then compare you to everyone in the pool. The top people are offered acceptances no matter when they interviewed. It does not mean you wait until the interview season is over to hear anything. You may hear anytime between now and the start of the school year.

I got accepted via email on Dec. 27th, and I have still not recieved anything in the mail yet. Any one else in this boat too?

I got accepted via 12/17 email and am having all correspondence sent to my permanent address, which is in Albany County, and I also haven't recieved anything yet.

Ppl who interviewed at Albany and placed in the UC category... hear anything new?

Yes, in that hated category since mid Dec 🙁

Is there any hope? Do you know anybody from previous years who was in the category and got accepted?

was anyone here placed on hold and was offered an interview afterwards in AMC?

Someone here might have some usual information for me...I was complete at Albany back in AUGUST, and I just called at the end of last week and was told I was still out for review. Has anyone else been under review there for a loooong time to get good news? I'm planning on a rejection, but since I obviously haven't even been looked at yet I don't want to completely cross them off my list of 'maybes'. Any advice?

I got an email saying I was on hold the first week in Jan.. I was complete last week of //aug. I don't plan on getting in or even going to an interview I have written them off. good luck

Hi -

Anyone getting Albany acceptances after being in the Under consideration category? If not, I guess we all have to wait till April...

I called the school today and they said that basically i am under consideration for "waitlist" !

What's that supposed to mean ? She said I could hear end of May, end of April... Very disturbing .. Anyone else called and was told the same thing?

The year I got accepted, I interviewed in October, was placed under consideration shortly after, then waited about 8 months until late June before finding out that I was accepted. So, you may be in for a little wait.

Hi guys. I completed my application back in December, but I still haven't heard anything yet. Should I write them a LOI? or keep bugging them via phone?
