I just received my acceptance to Alberta. I am pretty excited. Does anyone know when the new building will be completed? The way construction is going in this province, they may have a hard time finishing it on time. I guess I will probably be an Oilers fan by the time the four years are up. Any other accepted U of A students out there?

well from what I heard, the building was supposed to be finished for this year.

I am actually a Flames fan as well. I have never had anything against the oilers though. I cheer for them when they are not playing the flames. I just think that the Oilers have some good years ahead of them. I will probably buy some seasons tickets with the money I save by not going to UBC...jk (by the way, my friend is loving it out there). And yes, I am an Alberta boy. I grew up in Fort Macleod, undergrad in Lethbridge.

lived in alberta for 10 years now and can't wait to get out. vancouver is the bomb.

What kind of GPA & DAT scores did you have?
I also wanna get into Alberta, but I heard that they put lots of emphasis on the pre-requisite courses (unlike most canadian Dschools), which I did terribly on.

Yeah, the stats do seem to be quite high. My DAT scores only averaged 20 (sections that apply). My cum GPA and prereq GPA were 3.97 and 3.95 respectively though. I was also able to find out through a friend how I did on the interview. He is a 3rd year student in the Dental department and talked to the girl that sat on my committee. She did not say a specific number but said that I scored very high. Despite the high stats, I wasn't expecting an early acceptance because I just finished my Biochem and my second ochem requirement last month. I don't know how many "earlies" they sent out, but my friend thinks it was around 10. Our deposits have to be in by June 6, then I guess they will determine the next round after the rest of the transcripts are processed June 15th. Hope your on the list Studlyguy87. Good luck and I'll see some of you in September. We'll have to form an alliance to protect ourselves against those med people🙂.
