I’ve always thought it was illegal to sell alcohol at the pharmacy counter. At my previous company it would hard halt us at the register and say sale not allowed. Now my new company says it’s ok, so maybe it was just a company policy. I’m in Texas. Anyone know of any state or dea law that exists regarding alcohol sales at the pharmacy?

Lol...at the RA-Wags in KY they sell Oxys in the back of the store and customers go to the front register and buy a fifth of whiskey on the way out. All they need is a casino in the back...lol

Usually requires some "training" certification from police to sell EtOH...not rubbing EtOH (you know what I mean)

Selling ammunition in your place as well? Your one stop shop for Oxycodone, syringes, EtOH, and ammo...only in Texas or Montana apparently

I have never worked at a pharmacy that sold alcohol, I never thought about the interesting conundrum this would make. OP, are you working in a different city? Maybe it was a local ordinance and not a state law?

All you need is a TABC training certificate

You certainly can do both in the state of Missouri. Very common to sell a bottle of whine with their prescriptions in the pharmacy. Whoever is selling it just needs their alcohol license to sell and all is good.

I used to sell it all the time - no special training (I worked at 24 hour store) - did the customary "don't mix these two together" if it was relevant.

In certain states they have restricted time when they can sell it. It was something like 6am-midnight. And no sales on sunday except certain locations.
