My boyfriend is finishing his intern year, and because we're long distance (I'm finishing med school) I didn't do anything for his birthday. I already know what I'm getting him as a gift, b/c he specifically said he wanted something.

What would be the best thing your girlfriend could give you/do for you during a visiting weekend as a late birthday celebration? I have all these grand ideas about a night on the town but he's so exhausted half the time, I don't know...Oh and did I mention I'm still a poor student?

Understanding. The one thing we want, especially after finishing our intern year is understanding. No expectations. I remember being exhausted and visiting my girlfriend in Denver as a third year. When I fell asleep and didn't have sex, man was she upset. Having expectations are my worst nightmare from a girlfriend.

On the other hand - I love when a girl comes in and gets me organized. One girlfriend came into town, and organized my kitchen, closets, and hung paintings for me.

You know we don't have time to do those things, that if our girlfriends lived with us would be taken care of.

I would concur, sex, maybe some fine wine or a well crafted martini, let him get his stamina back and then a spectacular BJ, finishing it off with a homemade dinner of prime rib or other such extravagance. For desert, naturally more of you.

Now if he is tired, tell him to shower and rally! There is no excuse. If he is somehow just beyond the pale exhausted, give him a bj to start it off then get on top of him, yes on top of him. Do the heavy lifting til he is well rested.

Seriously, thanks. Obviously y'all are low maintenance. As for the organizing thing, I do usually cook like 3-4 meals and freeze them so he can have my cooking for a month or two when I can't get up there. Meatloaf/potatoes, beef stew, corn chowder, that sort of thing. Nothing fancy just comfort food.

Sex with TV while making dinner? That sounds like a recipe for a kitchen injury, or worse, a slip of the knife and a horrible bobbitt situation (anyone remember that? That happened in my area.)
