all quiet on the iowa front?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Are you from Iowa? If you are, the cost benefits are substantial.

I'm starting there in the fall, and would be more than happy to ask around if you have any questions

congrats!! Yeah, I am and I love Iowa City so it is my top choice for both those reasons. But I just was curious because no one talks about Iowa at all on here, good or bad. I guess most people wipe the midwest out completely, which is understandable. But I'm curious about quality, opportunities, etc. I hear chair time is good and teachers are good. maybe you can just update me on what you hear and experience?

Also, if you have any advice on what they're looking for in an applicant, what the interview was like, etc... that would be fantastic.

Hopefully I'll be there in 2 years! 🙂

In my opinion, I don't think it gets talked about on here very much because they take such a low number of out of staters so either a lot of people don't apply or don't get in...because I personally thought the school was top notch!!! Best out of the 7 I interviewed at.

Hey there,

I was out-of-state there last year, went to interview, liked it there, declined a waitlist offer...i liked that they made huge investments and i saw very nice new clinics there...not sure about faculty but students were very happy and friendly there. As for interview, go to the interview feedback section on SDN and stdy those sample q's...and yes, i liked the small city environment with lots of youth hanging out downtown. I remember, that Iowa likes at least 3.6-3.7 GPA and nice DAT with a high TS section... you may just call them and ask too.

Good luck.
