I was under the impression that binary fission creates genetically identical(i.e. same exact allele distribution) between parent and daughter cells, but according to TPR:
"Chromosomes are replicated and apportioned. The chromosomes are not lost, but they might be distributed differently between daughter cells(variable allele distribution)."
WTF are they talking about?? Doesn't genetically identical mean the SAME allele distribution? Is there some sort of exception to binary fission I don't know about? Someone please enlighten me!!
THanks
