I never knew what real eye twitching was until I got to med school. Doc said to cut down on stress & caffeine, which I'm trying but that's been tough. I"m curious if there's anything you can suggest to alleviate symptoms. I've been twitching a bit everyday for about 6 weeks. Thanks!

I have the same problem and it started during my second year of med school. Haven't found any good treatment options either...sorry. Just letting you know, I feel your pain. ;)

Eyelid twitching is due to nerves and medications. This is no big deal.

True blepharospasm is the contraction of the orbicularis muscle (bilateral).

If it occurs only on one side, then it's called hemi-facial spasm, which can be due to a lesion compressing the facial nerve. A MRI scan is indicated here.

thanks dr. doan. link has good info. mine's just one eye and just nerves i guess

dk23, ah, misery loves company :D apart from sleep, the only thing's that's helped is a warm towel. i even do my laundry more often so i can stick my head in the dryer afterwards. sounds horrible, i know
