can we vote for "this question has gotten old"? 🙄
I HAVE seen this topic discussed but never a poll. I know some ppl say this some say that, but i want to see a poll. Thanks for voting.

It's been a poll, an argument, a joke, an intergallactic war, a fist fight, a song and I think a haiku.

It almost always ends badly. I voted though.

second.

D.O.

Es no lo contendre.

How come "keep reapplying until I get in" isn't an option? That's what I would choose. I wouldn't do either Caribbean OR DO. But I might do another international program (maybe in Israel? I've heard people go to Ireland, also) if I applied more than 3 times here and didn't get in.

No Contest, DO by far. It's all ultimately about residency matching, and you'll do much better with a DO. I guess for the people that are more concerned with the vanity of having md after their name might consider carrib.

What if allopathic is my second choice? 😎 😛

I'd go DO no questions ask before caribbean. I wanted to do international only b/c then I wouldn't have to do prereqs but that didn't work out due to family issues. I'd rather stay here in the states anyway.

I'm all about being a doctor and from what I've seen a doctor is a doctor (at least here in the states) no matter what your initials are. Except PhD's we all know they aren't real doctors :meanie: *oh and that is a joke, so don't flame please*

I'd go caribbean, just to live in the caribbean. They need to open a Harvard II down there.

Also, what does "manipulation" refer to? (I know DO, but what does it mean?)

Well see, you start massaging the head, creating really groovy energy. . . and then then cranial sutures. . . they, uhm, start to move, giving many groovy feelings*

Muscle Energy
Myofascial Release
Strain/Counterstrain
Soft Tissue Manipulation
High Velocity/Low Amplitude Manipulation
Lymphatic Pump
Craniosacral Manipulation

You'll find many of the techniques are also used by Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists, and Chiropractors.

Not manipulate his way into a US med school? 🙁

"You, Go," he said.
But she just shook her head.
Then she laid back, stretched, and played dead.

Make you choice.

There are certainly more choices than this. You can do a Master's (my choice), work for a biotech company, do research, Teach for America, etc. Plus, I think it's offensive to DO's to just assume you could get in there no problem because you have higher numbers than their averages.

your not supposed to rhyme all the lines, you know 😛

Why is that offensive to DO's that they have lower stats??? Thats a fact and thats how it is. My opinion is nevertheless that you come out a well qualified physician. However, i stronlgy believe that DO was a second choice to most.

Regarding other options, this poll is AFTER you tried MD already. If you want to waste time doing postbac or teach or do research go ahead, but if you still dont get in what would you do.

I'd go DO for sure. It's all about the residency matching.

Where do I vote for "Cut off my ear"? 😀
