Just the whole propriety issue, I guess. It's perfect material for the Lounge, but the Dental forums have kinda been my safe haven from that sort of thing for a while now. I'm assuming the ban was based on more than just these 5 posts (like private interactions with a mod or something).

I agree with the whole propriety issue, but as long as I've been here, I've never seen someone banned for an odd joke. I've seen threads move to the Lounge for jokes, but not banned. So perhaps your assumptions are correct.

I can't stand trolls. One thing I've noticed, there are trolls on these forums with over 1k posts. Amazing that nobody has banned them yet...ie busupshot.

Also, I think that the moderators can tell from the IP address if the person already has a profile and is just trying to troll around for kicks with a new profile. So it doesn't really do any harm to be banned. I think if a more established person were to make the same jokes, they would not be banned so easily.
