What I think might make my case even more complicated is the fact that I didn't finish all four years of highschool in the US. After sophomore year, I went to Manila and got my highschool diploma by somehow skipping third year and entering school as a senior. They follow K-10 here so I was at just the right age. Then I learned about how limited the available slots are for foreign grads who want to take a 2-3 yr advance standing program to practice in the US, and I miss my family, and I'm hating my life here. ^^ So I'd like to go back next year. Do Universities accept students like me?

Thanks.

Edit: Wait I just realized I don't even know how colleges work in the US...how does the application process work? I live in Northern California. This is so basic but honestly I don't know where to start. Ughh. haha. Who should I talk to to guide me through this process? Is my case common? I wasn't able to take the SAT cause I went to Manila after sophomore year of highchool.

Step 1: Prepare your transcript with all the courses you have done so far.
Step 2: Talk to each one of your target undergraduate institutions in NorCal and let them know your situation.
Step 3: Let them assess your transcript. They will determine which classes you took are transferable and for how many credits. They will also determine equivalency of classes. Be prepared to take classes that are not determined to be 'equivalent'. Happens a lot, by the way.

Because of your case, you won't necessarily have a 'class standing' (ie. Junior, Sophomore) yet until you fulfill all the classes required for your intended major. This process is common here, where people go from one university to another prior to their junior year (Google transfer to 4-year universities). But you are transferring from an international school, so that's different.

Source: know a lot of people who've done this.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

If ds is your target, keep in mind that all prerequisites must be done at a US college/university, irrespective of any credit you may receive from the courses done outside of the country.
