Hi, thought i would just drop a note here. i am an IM intern that is switching to Ob this year. I need a place to vent. It is very difficult to apply as an intern. It is so hard to coordinate meetings for letters, etc. I think I am almost there though. I have not submitted yet, but I am so nervous that already people are getting interviews! if there is a kind soul out there like me, let me know

Hi. I am an EM intern in the same boat, although it sounds like you're a little further in the application process than I am (haven't lined up letters/wrote personal statement etc.) I wonder why there isn't a more streamlined way for interns to switch to other specialties. I'm less worried about getting interviews and more about how I am going to fit them into my week-long vacation in December.

Hey there -

I didn't have my application finished until very late in October after switching from IM to Ob/Gyn myself! You'll be fine. I have no idea where you are, but I'll tell you that Hopkins is a superb program with fine people. Hard work, great rewards, enthusiastic and thoughtful people. Wonderful environment. I love it here! Good luck!
