This basically applies to a select few who are on the waitlist and are possibly borderline and feel that they might not get in this year. It does not apply to anyone with a bachelor's degree.

Recently I received an email from Midwestern- Glendale AZ. I was rejected at MDW. They were proposing I take a Bachelor of Science in Bio-Medical Sciences.

I had completed all my pre-reqs and on the waitlist at two universities and as the deadline was nearing I was just getting very anxious and was looking for a plan B.

I got on their website and checked out this Bio-medical sciences course they offer. In fact I liked it so much I drove to Phoenix from Los Angeles to check it out. The campus is first class and very modern. It lies across the street from the pharmacy department. After taking a two-hour tour of the campus, discussing different options available and the curriculum, I was sold on the program.

In fact this course is somewhat intensive and full-time but nothing any of you guys can't handle. They even have an elective course that will help you improve your PCAT exam. They help you prepare your personal statement, resume, essays, and even help you with mock interviews prepration.
The faculty head actually said he guarantees this booster course and their preparation guarantees you will get an interview at Midwestern! This is an Win-Win situation.

I was sold at every detail - this course is a two year course - 21 months. If you feel that your GPA is above 2.5 and you don't have a Bachelors degree and you have completed all your pre-pharmacy reqs and don't want to just reapply and sit it out - Then this course will be a great opportunity to get in RIGHT NOW starting August 27th FALL 2007! You don't waste a year waiting around and maybe just working. You will still reapply to the universities and show them how proactive you are taking this course. You are sure to look superior in your endeavors and have a much better chance during your reapplication process.

But you must hurry and apply. First if you have questions call the head of the department for Bachelors in Bio-medical Sciences - they guy is super friendly.

He responds to emails or answers you phone call - I found the best time to email him is between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Name: Dr. William Perry Baker
e-mail: [email protected]

This class only holds 20 ppl max. They are still accepting apps today. I cannot guarantee - in a week. Research it over the weekend and call Monday with questions or email him.

I was impressed with the school and the provisions it has for students who want to improve their credentials applying to the healthcare field. They really care about your chances of getting into pharmacy school - in fact, the faculty member admitted his involvement in the admissions process.

This is a block learn curriculum where you learn in groups and they help you interact and learn the proper techniques in biotechnology of the future.

Do not miss out on this opportunity if you fit the profile above. If you want to pm me first - be my guest. Last week the class had 13 students!

Good luck! If I can help just one of you guys out there I feel I made a difference.

All the best. 🙂 👍

Quite a few ppl have read this thread. I hope this information will benefit, if not some, at least one of you!

I am open to your views on this. Please feel free to give me your input. The cost of living is relatively cheap and rent is very affordable. Though summers are somewhat HOT - the weather is great - for those who love sunshine!

Do you have an alternate plan B? Something to consider seriously.

Gluck to all who are on the waitlist or possibly looking to improve your stats for pharmacy school and guarantee an interview! Remember the competion is only getting more fierce - and only ones with above average credentials will have a chance. I personally drove 400 miles to verify - so I did the footwork for the group. 👍 🙂
