i recieved a mail yesterday that i am in alternate list in boston.does anybody have an idea what it means.how it works and is waiting list the same as alternate list?

i am not interviewed.laura cassell sent me an email that if u wish to be on alternate list reply soon.so thats why i am confused whats an alternate list.
