Well, I just received my acceptance letter from K-State this morning so that is very good news for me, but I have a friend that they said was on the alternate list. I don't know much about it, and was curious as to just how likely you are to get in if you are put on such a list? It's difficult to be very excited about being accepted when you have someone close to you who is feeling so discouraged.🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

I don't know much about how big K-State's alternate list is, but they typically move every year (except WICHE 🙂 ) So, it all depends on how low/high on the list your friend is. But even if he/she is somewhere in the middle, there is a chance they may be accepted after April (when everybody has to formally accept or deny), or in the summer. Tell him/her not to give up hope, I know (personally) it is hard to keep your head up, but that list will move!

my own alernate list story. Different school, but I was put on the wait list in Feb after interviews. I got a call two weeks before class started that I was in. It's not over until classes begin.

I have heard that it is highly unlikely to get in off of the alternate list at KSU. I know 2 people who were on the alternate list last year and did not get in. I also asked Dean Elmore about this once and he said that it is highly unlikely that any Kansas resident gets in off the alternate list. I'm so happy for you and I wish your friend luck!

It seems to me that the alternate list moves more for OOS than it does for IS.

Someone got into CSU after 2 weeks into the Fall semester last year...
