Hello folks,
I am a third year med student; planning on going into PM&R.
I have a great interest in holistic/integrative medicine.
I was wondering if this field is receptive to some complementary approaches in medicine-- and if I might be viewed as a
"weird quack" if I expose these interests during my pursuit of residencies.
Are any of the residency programs out there more progressive in their teaching and receptive to new approaches in Rehab?
Specifically, do some of the residency programs expose the residents to:
-- the usage of acupuncture?
-- the usage of prolotherapy?
-- the importance of nutrition in physical health?
-- mind/body connections in healing and in the sensation of pain?
If anyone on this forum has any input into this matter, feel free to drop some knowledge.
Thanks,
B
