So my situation start that I've been accepted at KCUMB and the depost of $1000 is due in a few days, however KC, MO isn't really my thing.

I have two more interviews at NYCOM and AZCOM comming up, both with a 70+ interview acceptance rate. Not to mention PCOM, MSUCOM, and CCOM are still considering my application.

I would goto KCUMB if it were my only choice, but the possibity of throwing $1000 away makes me sick. Please enlighten me if not only for a solid piece of mind.

You are asking us to guarantee you that one of these other schools will accept you. Unfortunately, this is the wrong place to ask. You should call miss cleo.

Its a tough position to be in, but I'd pay the deposit for sure.

Pay the deposit. You may not get in. Unless you won't go to KC even if you got in nowhere else, which would be a stupid thing to do IMO.

See what their policy is for withdrawing after the deposit is paid. Some schools give you a full refund up to a certain date and some give only a percentage back. After a certain date you lose the deposit.

Yes, paying nonrefundable deposits do suck. However, do you want to become a physician, or not? This answers your question. There are no guarantees in the application process; you don't know if you will get accepted into the other schools you applied to. If you want to play high stakes poker with this process, go right ahead. Just be willing to reapply again next year, if your bet ends up going bad. End of story.

I can't tell you what the right move is going to be for you. However, I'd probably secure my spot in medical school by paying the deposit. It sucks, but it's a small amount of money compared to the heartache and expense of having to reapply.

Just think about how bad it would suck if you don't get accepted to any other schools and have to reapply next year. Some schools require new LORs, you would have to write a new personal statement and new secondary essays and fill out AACOMAS all over again. That right there would be enough to motivate me to pay a $1000 deposit.

I would goto KCUMB if it were my only choice....

It IS your only choice....unless you get accepted elsewhere. And, there's no guarantee you'll ever get another acceptance. Don't think that just because you got one, that a lot of others are sure to follow. I paid more than one deposit, but I don't consider it "throwing $1000 away." I'd call it insurance against applying next year. It's well worth it, IMO.

Ok SDN you convinced me the cheque is in the mail.

However don't think this will free you from my old country sass if I get accepted at MSU!!

I'm english you nit(ty).
