Recently, aducanumab (antibody to beta-amyloid) got unfavorable reviews by the FDA's expert panel. So, it is unlikely that it will be approved by the FDA.

Are there other Alzheimer's Disease drugs in clinical trials that you think will be successful in the next 5 or so years? Or are you pessimistic?

Pessimistic. Maybe some other colleagues that deal with dementia will have a different opinion but I think once you start showing symptoms the horse is out of the barn. I think if anything we might be a bit more successful with prevention of the disease rather than its reversal.

Because so many Alzheimer's Disease drugs have failed in the past, my sense is that there may be a lot of pessimism in this area.
