After much deliberation, I have decided to just take Physics 2, Genetics, my 400 French class and do research while prepping for the MCAT. That amounts to 14 credits, 11 graded. Is this good enough for the MCAT semester? I was gonna take cell bio, but I dropped it. Good idea?

sounds good, quality, not quantity. better to bang out A's

I'd say you're smart. Studying for the MCAT is going to take up a lot of your time, so good luck!

I had 15 graded credits- 3 were psych research that was little work at all. i'm glad that i took less credits than usual- MCAT studying took a lot of time!

good luck 🙂

I think that's absolutely fine. Med school know it pays to take a lighter load during your MCAT semester. Just show them you really made use of your time by acing that thing! It's definitely better to take fewer hours and get superb grades than to overload yourself and get mediocore grades. Best of luck to you.

I took 11 credits while studying for the april MCATs last year,... and I have an acceptance to med school, and waiting to hear from more. Don't feel like a slacker, cuz that's certainly not the case. You NEED ALL the time you can to study for mcats. it's like a job!

that's one more class than I had when I took the MCAT.
( Although between working 2 nights a week in the hospital and doing research, etc....it seemed like i had 12 classes. ) 😀
