I’m currently really struggling mentally on what i should do. I have an AACOM cgpa of 3.14, sgpa of 3.07, and decided to do an SMP. unfortunately I got one C in my first semester, which has now put my expected graduating GPA at ~3.1. I haven’t taken the MCAT yet but, i’m planning on doing 7 mos without working to study full time. I have research, clinical/non clinical volunteering, shadowing, strong LORs, really good writing skills for PS, LOTS and i mean LOTS of clinical hrs, no leadership positions. there’s a couple other tiny additions that would potentially boost me but honestly unmentionable. I know without any doubt I have 0% chance at MD. I’m just wondering about DO, and what i should do. i really, really want to apply for the 2027 cycle. I understand the most obvious answer is fail out. but if anyone has any success stories or other advice that is not that, I’m prioritizing persistence.

I will! This program was super science intensive and I learned a lot of our coursework is covered on MCAT, hoping that'll pay off.

Just gonna throw in my 2¢ that 7 months full time is way overkill for the MCAT. 3 maximum. Beyond that you start wandering into burnout and retention loss. Spend the extra time on class, work, volunteering, just anything else.
