Medical Am I first gen if parents attended some college abroad?

So pretty much my parents attended college in third-world countries so we always listed on FAFSA that they completed a degree. Well turns out that the other day my parents needed to provide proof of completing college and when they called up the university they are listed as never completing their degrees (they only took a few credits before leaving the country).

So what I’m asking is should I mark myself as first-get and explain or just keep it as is?
