Am I getting the right impression here when it comes to the questions?

So I've done a couple MCAT practice exams with Princeton review.
I've scored pretty well getting in the 80s in each section. This surprises me because I haven't done much in depth studying for it so far.
The one thing I've noticed though is that the whole exam seems to be geared towards reading comprehension while the knowledge it tests for seems to be pretty general. The passages themselves seem to give you a lot of helpful background info in case you forgot something. My strategy is reading the questions first and then going through the passage to find the relevant information rather than reading the passage and getting overwhelmed it. The questions that give me the most trouble are the ones that teach you something new and challenge you to use the new concepts.

I guess my impression from these practice exams that the questions are quiet simpler compared to what I would expect on a normal exam on a particular topic.
Am I getting the right impression here?

The MCAT is a reading comprehension test. I you are pretty good at reading comprehending and take sometime to review the sciences, you wouldn't have a problem scoring well on this exam. what is your verbal reasoning score?

Just did my first one actually and scored in the 70s. This is quite a surprise. I thought it would be the easiest of the sections.
But the passages are written in a such a information dense and complex way it occurred to me it would probably take quite a bit of time to read and reread sections of the passages in order to identify and isolate the information relevant to the questions.
