My institution has provided me with a Pre-med Committee letter. This has been received in interfolio.

The Pre-med office suggests in addition to have:
-2 science LOR's in graded classes
-1 non-science LOR
-1 choice letter-PI, mentor,....

So a packet of 5 letters, with the pre-med letter on top will be sent to AMCAS from interfolio.

My two science LOR's are org. chem. and calculus. I've searched this use of calculus as a science and there is no definitive answer, but is talked about a lot.

So bottom line, it appears that at most schools, if one has the Committee letter, this trumps everything else. Is this correct? I don't need to follow any instructions for "2 science LOR's in graded classes, one in a non-science" that schools request of people with no pre-med committee at their school?

Am I good to go? I go to a big school (with some unfriendly science teachers) and my Calculus teacher wrote me a great LOR, and I'll use it in a packet to schools. Hey, I figure math is included in the science GPA, right? But since I have the Committee letter already written, it doesn't appear to matter to me, that I'm using Calculus as one of my science LOR's.

Thanks. I just want to be able to sleep at night.:xf:

please offer an opinion, someone, please

yes, you are correct that the committee letter trumps all. This is very important, and congratulations on getting one; not everyone gets one at my university. You'll be fine using calculus, especially if the letter is strong. Don't even worry about it, there are too many other things that need your attention.

Thanks for responding Alex, I can sleep now 🙂
