Who hasn't completed studying all of the material for this exam 2+ weeks before taking it? How is it that most people here seem to be able to take the diagnostic NBME exams and QBank tests so early on? I am 8 days into a 31 day schedule and I haven't even STARTED phys or path yet... so far, I have done: biochem, immuno, 1/2 of micro, behavioral, genetics, embryology, nutrition, and basic pharm. Am I doing something wrong here?

My schedule has me learning new info (neuropath) right up until the 2nd to last day before the exam... Well, I guess its not "new" since I just finished the neuropath course a couple of weeks ago.

I guess I'm starting to freak out a little reading all of the talk that goes on in this forum. Right now I'm at 63% in QBank, which pales in comparison to the 70's and 80's people boast about on here.

Thanks for the input...

Yes you are far behind, and your scores pale in comparison to my straight 100%s that I have been getting since I started my early-bird Q-review 1.5 yrs ago. I have been over the entirety of years' one and two's material at least 15 times in the past two weeks, using my handouts from my classes no less.

I have memorized all of the drugs and all of there contraindications in order of dose-response and alphabetical order.

I have no more use for my limbs as they atrophy away, because I have gained super-human powers that allow me to levetate and carry my sickly body around.

I am the average SDN student!

You are doing fine. Set your own pace, stick with it, and let the other students do it there way.

Stick to your 'guns'.

You're on schedule. Don't worry about it at all. Just keep working hard. You'll finish and be fine.

You are doing fine. Just keep moving through the material and dont feel like you have to read out of too many books for a certain topic. Just pick your favorite book. Also, keep doing as many questions as you can regardless of whether you got to the material yet. You can learn from questions.

i really appreciate the positive feedback from those who have finished so far this year.

it helps tremendously to read that when im feeling low during the day.

Seconded...

Back to FA.

We're with ya 110% of the way. We're all burrowed and studying our butts off. I covered 3 systems today and am getting ready to review my micro and pharm again (since micro and pharm likes to seep out of my brain cells if I don't cover it every single day...).

So...on that note back to First aid/Step Up and Pharm Recall for me...

Keep your chin up!

You are doing more than fine. I am studying for about 3.5 weeks total, as did all of my predecessors before me. I have almost completed FA for the first time, finished 750 Q bank Q's and expect to spend the week before the exam reviewing FA and finishing Q Bank. But I know I will still be looking things up all next week, and I am not too freaked about it. I know many others who have done the same and made anywhere between 229-260. When you get to the end of FA- you realize why so many people take it after one month of studying- burnout is real and you beging to forget what you knew three weeks ago. I think a lot of ot comes down to how well you learned the material on the way through, anyway- and your ability to take standardized tests, and of course, letting Kaplan teach you all of their favorite Zebras via Qbank. I have a friend who made a 35% on a Qbank block two days before the test, and they just matched into a highly competitive residency, so I ssume their step I score was better than Kaplan's prediction.

You will be A-okay.
