I received via email today an invitation from the AMA regarding an upcoming webinar open to medical students. If you're interested in being part of the (AMA) solution to changing med ed, this might be for you.

####

We are excited to bring you this new series, just one of the many ways we are disseminating the innovations emerging from the AMA Accelerating Change in Medical Education Consortium schools. To learn more about our overall initiative, visit changmeded.org. We look forward to your participation on April 24!

You’re invited to join us for the first webinar in our series, which will take place at3 p.m. Central time on April 24 and focus on a new teaching virtual EMR system that was developed and is already being implemented by consortium schools. Learn how consortium schools are using this teaching platform to instruct students throughout medical school.

Going beyond the basics, this webinar shows how faculty can use this teaching EMR to help students identify trends and issues that can improve population health, patient safety and health care quality.

Following this initial webinar, webinars will be offered every other month and will address topics, such as:
• Faculty development, including coaching
• Database usage to teach population health skills
• Competency-based education
• Master adaptive learner
• Value-added roles for medical students
• Interprofessional education
