AMBOSS reps came to our school today to talk about their product. Seemed really interesting. I definitely went for the free food and 25$ gift card, and was initially skeptical about the product given how new it is and inability for them to really have any conclusive data on how well it prepares students for boards given it only came out in 2017.

Does anyone have any idea how good it actually works? As an MS1, does the Q&A Banks really go well with my curriculum (At a DO School)?

I want to "Try it" (We were given a free trial) but i'm so swamped with my workload right now I can't imagine adding a whole other resource. But if it's awesome I wouldn't mind using it for 3 months in the summer.

Any thoughts?

They’ve been to our school many times. They’re better than Qbanks like Firecracker and stuff. I think if you used them instead of something like Rx as your dry-run Qbank during classes you’d be good. Everyone is swamped in med school, key is to just take a little time during your day to do a few board style questions on whatever topic you’re learn in school. Just to see how they word stuff and get an idea of what’s high yield.

Anyway, AMBOSS wants to be the new Uworld - obviously they won’t be any time soon. They’re pretty cheap though, and I do think they’re better than Rx. Million times better than Firecracker.

Would agree with Spectreman.

Rx is oooookkkaaay if you actually use it. Firecracker I never touched even though we got it free.

Uworld is king.

Third year medical student here. I have done above average on most of my COMATS since I have used the Zanki or Wiwa Anki deck plus Dope Anki (for clinical random crap that need to be known at an intern level). That's in combination with Uworld.

AMBOSS is hyped by one of my colleagues, who is arguably one of the low performing students in our class.

I wouldn't bother with it.

On Amboss it's tough for me to get close to 50% on a block but Uworld I'm pretty consistently hitting 50% right now. I would recommend getting Amboss if there's a deal and using that as a secondary bank and learn from their tqs. The Amboss library is a useful tool too because you can search for just about anything and it shows up. Obviously Uworld is still king but I'd say Amboss is great as a secondary resource.

Library is dope, Qbank is meh
That damn overlay feature is straight orgasmic

I use it along UWORLD when I don't understand their explanations or need a bit more info (unusual)

I personally liked how they provided information but really didn't like their question bank at all. I would get their library because its cheap and they stay up to date with their literature they cite.
