Has anyone had this problem?

I priority mail (next day air) my two of my transcripts with the attached transcript request form on Thursday July 03 and its been a week and they still haven't posted that they have been received. So last night I e-mailed them asking if they have received them, but if it hadn't posted yet and I get an e-mail telling me exactly what the application window says when you log on to your application. 😡

I know the application says they are not recieved...duh! I ASKED if they had arrived but not been processed. If its not there at all then I need to go back to the post office to track it. But instead I get a generic e-mail. +pissed+

OK I have vented.......thanks

Same problem here...

I sent my transcript to AMCAS more than a week ago and I just got another email today stating my "transcript is missing." The most frustrating part is that I know those peckerheads won't begin to process my application until they have my transcript 😡 😡 Oh well, I'll give it a couple more days. *sigh*

I'm in the same position! I had three transcripts sent to AMCAS at the end of June and contacted AMCAS to see why they hadn't received them yet...They said it takes 15 days from the time the transcript is sent for them to record that they have it....

Two of my transcripts are from Georgetown and University of Maryland....it really can't take that long for two little envelopes to travel a few blocks!! Also, I have confidence in the postal system and the registrars of these two universities... I'm toying with the idea of going down to the AMCAS office, locating and personally verifying my transcripts! 😡

Just wanted to vent with you guys.

I was in the same boat transcript-wise. My registrar sent out my transcript on June 25th and it didn't register as having arrived at AMCAS utill July 9th. I knew it shouldn't have taken that long, since it just had to go to from Albany to DC. I even sent another transcript by fedex overnight on the 7th, but it didn't change the status of my application when fedex said it arrived there. It was finally on the 9th that my app went active. The small silver lining in this is that AMCAS will ackgnowledge the actual date the transcript was received, which was June 30 in my case, so if verification and processing order is based off of transcript receipt, we shouldn't be too bad (I hope). Hope this puts some of it in perspective.

I had my transcript mailed out from California on 6/27. After attempting to email AMCAS about the status of my transcript I have gotten a bunch of worthless automated, generic replies (no surprise there). Think of it this way: I see the whole AMCAS process as just another test that pre-meds must face. Anyone who can survive AMCAS with his sanity intact must have more than enough patience to be a doctor.

The problem with AMCAS is that you have absolutely no control over anything concerning that part of your application. You can prepare everything for your med school application, and yet all the effort could be easily ruined at the hands of those minimum-wage earning incompetent high-school drop-outs who did not give a damn about your application. I developed stomach ulcer when dealing with them two years ago. The problem was that I deferred in 2001 so that I have to re-send my transcripts to AMCAS in 2002 for verifications (which is stupid, since I was already accepted and there was no change to my transcript; but they have to "reverify" it.) So I had to send my transcripts again for over 5 times before those "specialists" would receive them in 2002. I was so pissed that I wrote a letter to them listing their incompetence and mismanagements because I don't give a damn about AMCAS since I was already in two years ago.

I hear you, and it really does not matter when you submit because these *****s do not go by the early bird gets the worm. Sooo all this crap about getting your stuff in early does not work for some folks. Bottom line is that you are at the mercy of *****s.

AMCAS is ridiculous.

Transcript sent on 6/27. Still on hold. They told me today that it might be as late as the week of July 20th.

I've been dropping F-bombs all afternoon.

An upside, I've been going to the gym every day to vent the funk on some freeweights. I might end up going to a crappy school (or waiting a year) but I'll be ripped when I get there! 😎

I sent my transcripts only a few days ago (I know I know), so judging by what was said here, they are not getting there until 2029.

Thank you guys for the heads up, but now I have to go and take out my anger on a cigarette.

Oh, and I am starting a pool:

3:1 odds that I get emphysema before the AMCAS processes my transcrips.

My application was just processed today at around noon, do not despair but yeah, the transcripts do take a while to get posted BUT that does not mean that they could already have them at AMCAS and be also verifying at the same time. So you may see your transcript posted and then a day later that you went straight from active to certified. Regardless I was quite persistent with AMCAS about my status and maybe that was the extra umph they neede to get the ball rolling....although I doubt it.

You keep hearing about these older applicants in their forties.

Maybe it just took them twenty years to figure out the application process. I can see it.

Oh, and Goose, smoke one for me, will you? I quit.

God...this reminds me of a cartoon where a skeleton is sitting in front of a computer and on the screen it says "SYSTEM DOWN...PLEASE WAIT".

For me, I'll be dead and the AMCAS will say, "VERIFYING TRANSCRIPTS...PLEASE WAIT".

It is nice to know that I have a valid reason for being so !@#$%. I hope that we all will soon be able to see progress soon.
