Im a facing an indecisive choice whether to hold off my application until next cycle for medical school so I could strengthen my application. I have had family health/financial issues that made a conflict toward my performance during my undergrad years where I had to work for money and no time for ECs. I am 24 yo right now.
I have not received my mcat score yet until Aug 1 but from practice exams, I'm ranging in 490-500.
I havent submitted my AMCAS app for verification yet and its mid-July. I just started working on my personal statement in July after my mcat exam. I really want to make my letter crisp before submitting but its getting late in the cycle.
My cGPA= 3.42
sGPA=3.34
GA resident.
5 months of lab research.
1 year volunteering at two hospitals.
No EC during my undergrad career except AMSA and National Wildlife.
5 months of chem. tutoring.
9 years of catering as a server. Also a catering team leader for over 5 years at the same business.
CPR-certified.
OR Shadowing for 1 day.

My goals for upcoming year if applying next cycle:
Becoming certified EMT, Med Scribing, Shadowing abroad for 1 month, additional lab research, ORISE CDC Fellowship, continuing volunteering at hospitals, and attending AMSA National Conference.

GPA doesn't seem to be impressive. Neither does ECs. If you also did bad in your MCAT then you are basically done. I'm sorry about that.
You might still get a chance, but there must be no chance for this cycle. How about waiting for >=1 year(s)?

Any chance getting into DO schools? Since I have already graduated from college, is there any ECs I can take part of outside of college organizations?

Apply to DO only if your MCAT hits above 505
