for the MD PHD essay, it says to fully cite any publications in work/activities...anyone citing abstracts?
I have two online but I'm not sure how or whether to cite them...they arent published in a journal or anything. Should I just put the webpage under work/activities? Any ideas?

i cited abstracts from posters i presented at meetings.

I cited abstracts and posters using the title, authors and where and when they were presented. I don't think you should use a web site in lieu of an actual citation unless that's the only place where it is presented. If this is the case, then maybe put title/authors/web site name/web address?

If it's an abstract for your PIs web site or something like that I'm not sure I'd classify it as an abstract as it is more like advertising for your boss. Hmmm, I'm not sure about this, though, you see so many different things on web sites.

thanks guys
yeah, i attended some conferences and presented posters with abstracts, and they also published the abstracts on thier conference websites.
did you guys classify the poster and the abstract as two different activities or under one? I don't really want to do two, so that way I can add something else...

i would place it under the same activity, you have about a paragraph to describe the activity, definately enough room to include the citation. you may need to play with formatting, i haven't been able to get mine to look like a bulleted list. to see how it looks, just print out your amcas application. i agree with the previous poster - don't include the website, just write out the citation as if it were a publication.
