I was verified and noticed that for the same course code was put in for both chem 1 and chem 2. i'm wondering if that is worth calling amcas about or just let it be? clearly, one title is chem 1 and another title is chem 2 (with different semesters)

Thanks!

Minor errors won't break your application, don't overthink it too much

If somewhere else on that description line it clearly differentiates between the two, you should be fine. AdComs are people too, and they see ridiculous typos/errors all the time. If you're still feeling uneasy about it, just call the AMCAS folks and ask for their advice on if it's worth doing anything about it. 😛

I actually made a similar mistake on mine. AMCAS verified it on June 10th, with no issues -- I only just now noticed the mistake. I listed "Chem 125" for both Gen Chem 1 and 2 Labs (although the course description is correct. It SHOULD read Chem 125, followed by Chem 126.

I'm curious to know what you did, and whether you have any advice for me? Should I call/email AMCAS? Will they even do anything about it?

most schools will have spaces on their secondary for you to enter the classes you are using for their requirements anyways.. so I wouldn't sweat it

i honestly doubt most schools even look closely enough at an app to notice such mistakes

So, the issue is that I'm going to be entering "Chem 125" and "Chem 126," on all of my secondaries; when adcoms cross-reference those classes with my AMCAS application, they'll notice the typo (or will they..?). But if they cross-reference with my actual transcript, there won't be an issue.

they don't see your actual transcript until your matriculate

i highly doubt they cross-reference those classes.. AMCAS makes it so they can read off your GPA very easily and don't really have to slug through your classes. I don't think schools will notice the class numbers are the same.. especially since the class name is presumably different.

get it corrected if you are nervous about it but it's a non-issue IMO

I made this exact same mistake for my gen chems too 😕 At least I had different grades in each, but I put Chem 105 twice :bang:

AMCAS didn't notice it during verification though, so I figure nobody really takes the time to look that deeply at your application.
