Hello everyone,

The way my university had it set up, we went by the semester system but the two main semesters were listed as "Fall" and "Winter". The summer term was split into two portions for those taking courses, Spring (May-June) and Summer (July- August). In the AMCAS application, I would still select the "semester system", correct? AMCAS has the semesters listed as Fall and Spring so I was a bit confused. Should I just list the 'Winter' courses under the 'Spring' tag?

I also took one course listed in my transcript as being done in the Spring, should that just be listed as summer?

for example, would this be correct?

on transcript as 'Fall 2017' - Fall term of Freshman Year on AMCAS
on transcript as 'Winter 2018' - Spring term of Freshman Year on AMCAS
on transcript as 'Spring 2018' - Summer term of Sophomore Year on AMCAS

Hello everyone,

The summer term was split into two portions for those taking courses, Spring (May-June) and Summer (July- August). In the AMCAS application, I would still select the "semester system", correct? AMCAS has the semesters listed as Fall and Spring so I was a bit confused. 1) Should I just list the 'Winter' courses under the 'Spring' tag?

2) I also took one course listed in my transcript as being done in the Spring, should that just be listed as summer?

3) for example, would this be correct?

on transcript as 'Spring 2018' - Summer term of Sophomore Year on AMCAS
Though AMCAS gives the option for Summer Semester (Summer), First Semester (Fall), and Second Semester (Spring), the printout shows Summer School (SS). Semester 1 (S1), and Semester 2 (S2). So those confusing designations are eliminated to make things more clear.
1) Yes.
2) Yes.
3) Yes, as AMCAS considers the summer term to be part of the next academic year.
