AMCAS Early Decision Deadline

Quick question. Is the August 1 deadline the date the application must be submitted, or verified? I have been thinking it was a submission deadline, and I still think that is right, but I just had the scary thought that maybe it would need to be verified by this date as well. I did some searching but couldn't find an answer that was quite satisfactory. If anybody knows, I'd love to know too.

If you're not even going to be verified by Aug 1 then don't even bother with EDP...
