AMCAS future course: I didn't put down the right semester

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Catalystik... is this true?

See edit.

Remember, courses of this type are non-binding. Current/Future courses simply allow you to show
medical schools that you are completing courses that may fulfill their requirements. AMCAS will not
change these courses, but you can contact the medical schools directly to inform them of schedule
changes if necessary.

I think writing down the grades is so insanely stupid and tedious.... What is the point?

Just look at the transcript. THAT'S THE REASON FOR IT.

1. AMCAS processing and writing in transcripts will require way more $$$ per application, or an additional 2-3 weeks per application if they were to enter it.
2. It's easier to analyze data if it's all computerized.

So why do they take the transcript? Don't they check it over anyways? If I just write in an A for everything what happens?

OChem Lab is required by many schools and they would eventually notice if you never took it. However, if a course you marked as "future" were not required by the school you choose to attend, then it wouldn't matter if it didn't show up on the final official transcript submitted.

If they had to correct everything you entered, your verification time would take longer than someone who entered everything in correctly. At worst, they'll kick back your app to you and say something along the lines of "enter it correctly you nub." Your app would then be delayed heavily.

Let's put it this way: labor spread out over many people == quick and easy; labor carried out by only a few == time-consuming.

It's easy to read "Organic Chemistry , 3 credit hours, A" and move on. If the person verifying data also had to enter the course name, credits, etc. then it would take him or her significantly longer, and would be more prone to errors (lack of redundancy).

I see, guess it isn't as stupid as I though.
