I'm sorry if this has been answered before but I would really appreciate if someone could confirm how AMCAS handles GPA rounding.

Does a 3.398 become a 3.40?

Does a 3.365 become a 3.37?

Etc.

Thank you!

you'll see when they do it. honestly, what can you do at this point

I'm not applying this cycle. I'm doing a post-bacc to raise my undergraduate GPA and I'm trying to figure out how many credits/points I need to reach certain cutoffs. These numbers could be drastically altered by different rounding techniques.

Yes, AMCAS rounds the expected way to two decimals. For example, 3.365 becomes 3.37, but 3.364 becomes 3.36

This is great news! Do you by chance have a source for this? I was speaking to one of the premed advisors at my school who seemed to believe that AMCAS does not round, I.e. if you end up with a 3.398 it is reported as a 3.39 and not a 3.40.

I just checked my verified GPAs, one was a rounded-up value and one was rounded-down. I'll double check to make sure.

My 2.79862069 showed up as a 2.80 while my 2.254022989 showed up as a 2.25.
