Hey,

Anybody know whether vocational coursework (e.g., post-HS certifications, EMT-B, etc.) count toward the AMCAS GPA? In general, all college courses count toward the AMCAS GPA; however, vocational coursework is basically never considered "true" college coursework, so I am wondering how it is treated by AMCAS. It is calculated in or just treated as P/F (despite a grade being granted), etc? Anyone know for sure?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The AMCAS handbook states that transcripts must be submitted from all post-high school institutions where you took coursework, even if it does not lead to a degree: http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/amcas2010instructions060209.pdf See pages 7 and 24.

It's my understanding that this would include even cosmetology school, or automotive repair coursework and the grades earned in such classes are included in your application GPA.
