When AMCAS calculates your cGPA & sGPA, does it take into account the number of units each class was? Some of my upper division Bio classes are a lot less units than Ochem was, and I did much better in the former.

Ok, thanks.Do med schools at least somewhat recognize that while I didn't do so hot in Ochem (C+), I did well in Biochem the next year? (A)

I have no idea. It depends on the school, I would think. They will look at your overall sGPA and take it into consideration, as well as an anomalous grade. An adcom may be better able to answer that question, but all you can do is hope that an upward trend is a good thing🙂
