Does AMCAS honor grade replacements from official transcripts, or do they simply average the classes? Just to clarify, I don't mean simply retaking the class in order for the most recent retake to be factored by itself, as in AACOMAS, but a school issued grade replacement (not counted on the transcript). My school gave up to 16 credits of grade replacement, and I was wondering if AMCAS basically disregards this or implements it.

Thanks!

Nope, the grades will be averaged. Schools with grade replacement policies use the replaced grade to factor into their own GPA, which doesn't affect your AMCAS GPA. Your AMCAS GPA is what matters. The GPA calculated by your school might matter for scholarships or for internships, but it isn't used in med school admissions.
