AMCAS having issues receiving letters from Interfolio electronically

As titled, I am starting to get concerned because I submitted my app on June 1st. on June 2nd, I asked Interfolio to send five of my letters to AMCAS electronically. It's June 10th already and I do not see that the letters were received on AMCAS app status, so I reached out to both Interfolio and AMCAS to see what's up. Interfolio confirmed that the letters were sent as requested from their end. AMCAS just emailed me back and said there's been a known issue between interfiolio and AMCAS where AMCAS can't receive letters from Interfolio. IS THIS FOR REAL?! What in the world in this day and age, they can't receive letters of recommendations that are sent electronically? What's really frustrating is the AMCAS person said they're working on fixing this but they have NO IDEA how long this would take. IS THIS FOR REAL? So what, I am just gonna wait? Is there anyone else going through with this currently? THIS IS CRAZY!!!! ANY ADVICE? Thanks!

PSA: Everyone stay on top of your Interfolio deliveries this cycle. I have also had issues with Interfolio deliveries disappearing into the ether.

The Friday before Memorial Day, I asked Interfolio to deliver 2 letters to AMCAS. Neither made it. I got a notice from Interfolio customer service two days later stating that one delivery couldn't be completed because of a missing AAMC ID error they received from AMCAS.

My ID was absolutely not missing. When I replied that my AAMC ID was correct and included on the delivery in question, I received a decidedly unhelpful/irrelevant response from Interfolio basically saying "*shrug* Looks fine on our end! Must be something you did! Make sure you watch this helpful video about how to properly request a delivery to AMCAS!"

I then got an Interfolio rep on the phone. She was very apologetic and confirmed that my correct ID was included with the delivery, but couldn't explain what happened. She finally told me there was nothing they could do on their end and I'd need to contact AAMC directly.

I found that a little irritating. Not sure why I'm paying Interfolio $50 a year for the privilege of sorting out their IT issues for them.

In any case, they credited my account for the deliveries. I decided to attempt new deliveries rather than roping AAMC into the matter, and fortunately the letters went through successfully on the second request.

A known issue that they have with Interfolio about receiving the letters and they said they are working on fixing it so I really don’t think I can bother intefolio about it because they did their job. I double checked the letter IDs and the AMCAS IDs and they were all correct. I was asking for an advice on how to proceed now because AMCAS said they were working on fixing the issue but I don’t wanna indefinitely wait. I have all of my letters stored with Interfolio and what should I do to send the letters to AMCAS?

I fixed my issue by having Interfolio credit my account for the two deliveries that did not successfully make it to AMCAS, initiated new deliveries using the same letter IDs and the letters were received by AMCAS by the next morning. Is that something you can try?

I don’t think so because Interfolio is not the issue, and doing another batch of deliveries still won’t fix the issue of AMCAS receiving the letters from Interfolio. I do not know how they have issues receiving them when the letters are sent electronically but AMCAS said wait until they fix the issue while I also wait for the verification to be complete. Thanks for your help tho

You don’t know that resubmitting won’t help until you try it. Isn’t it worth it to try?

Yes I did! LOL someone suggested resubmitting the LORs from Interfolio to AMCAS and I was like let me try it lol you never know and it went through the next day

Ahhh okay, glad to hear it! I was having similar problems. One LOR was delivered by interfolio and after five days, AMCAS still hadn't received it. I reached out to AMCAS yesterday and they said there had indeed been issues recently, but they should be resolved now.

If anyone else is having similar problems, try having the letter resubmitted again from interfolio to AMCAS.

Submitted an entirely different letter on the yesterday at 9pm and was received by AMCAS by 7am today!!!

Will call AMCAS later.
Will also try submitting letters 1 by 1. The ones not received were 2 in the same delivery... Maybe that's the issue. Not sure.

I am unfortunately. Called AMCAS, said they are still working on it but advised I go ahead and try sending it their way via other methods such as the letter request form. They said it will indeed get fixed but no ETA. Tried resubmitting to no avail....

It actually worked sending the letters 1 by 1. Both got there the next day.
But sent one on 6/25 still has not been received as of this posting. Called AMCAS, the guy I spoke to said to wait the 72 hrs... He didn't seem as helpful as a lady I spoke to about 2 wks ago.
Will wait until tonight or tomorrow before I sent it again.

Strange. I redelivered the letter on its own and it still didn't work for me (this was about a week ago). I am going to try again and see what happens. It was working fine the beginning of June.

AMCAS just made an announcement via twitter at 9:34 AM Eastern regarding Interfolio:

"ALERT: AMCAS is experiencing technical difficulties receiving letters from Interfolio. We will be providing updates as we learn more. Please do not submit additional letters via Interfolio until the issue is resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you."

tldr: there are some known issues right now that AMCAS is working to resolve, do not send more letters just yet

Hope they fix it before secondaries...still have two to upload. Will be annoying to have to pester my writers to reupload directly.
 
Submitted my letter from Interfolio on 26th morning but AMCAS still has not received my letters. 🙁

Mine started working again yesterday. Maybe give it one more day then call?
 
I had one that didn't go through a couple of weeks ago, so I resent it yesterday, together with a second one. They were received this morning.

Fun fact - AMCAS removed the two letter entries from my app. The email they sent me this morning said "We received two letters that you haven't added to your application yet, please sign in and add them." So I did, and when I clicked the add button, the form was prepopulated with the info that I entered when I added them the first time. Gee AMCAS, where could that have come from... 🙄
