Hi,
I entered these on AMCAS, submitted the application.
Went to interfolio, started a transfer using the letterIDs from the AMCAS.
I did not use the request forms from AMCAS because I did not know what letterID to use for that on the interfolio.

Has any one completed this successfully? IF so, how did you enter the AMCAS request forms? Did you some how use the same letterID for both the request and the LOR or did you just ignore the request form like I did?

I do not know about successful AMCAS transfer as I just submitted mine from interfolio to AMCAS.

Here is what I did: I saved AMCAS request form as a PDF and uploaded it on Interfolio. I included this AMCAS request form with the letter when I submitted. Here is how it looked when I did it.

1) AMCAS Request form for Dr. ABC
2) Confendential letter from Dr. ABC

I included AMCAS Letter ID for the both the documents. Hope this help and more importantly it should expidite the proess.

how long does it take for AMCAS to process LOE from interfolio??

cause i sent mine about 2 weeks ago and they still havent showed up.
but I forgot to include the amcas letter ID on my LOR and i'm wondering if i should resend my LORs

Thanks, Cancerkiller007.

It seems kinda' redundant to use the letterID and the req form but if that's what worked, I will do the same.

I did not even use the AMCAS letter request form for sending one from Interfolio. I had a letter sent from Interfolio to AMCAS, and about two weeks later I received an e-mail saying that they received it. So I went ahead and added that letter to the school I was applying to, and re-submitted my AMCAS. It worked - the school I applied to can now access those letters.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to link you to our latest blog post that talks about AMCAS Letter ID's:

http://interfolio.wordpress.com/2008/07/22/amcas-letter-ids/

For more on the general process, see here:

http://interfolio.wordpress.com/2008/05/22/use-interfolio-to-send-your-letters-to-amcas/

We're hoping to begin sending letters electronically to AMCAS later this summer.

As always, contact AMCAS with questions specific to their process. You can always reach us at [email protected] or (877) 77-FOLIO.

Thanks and good luck!

My Interfolio account shows that my letters were sent on 7/10 and I just got an email today from AMCAS saying that they received them. So about two weeks is a good estimate on the estimated processing time.

Just to give everyone an idea, my letters were sent electronically by Interfolio on July 14th and I just got an email today from AMCAS saying it has been received. A little over a week in my case.

Did you use the AMCAS cover sheet for each letter?

Same question to you. Did you use the AMCAS cover sheet for each letter? Just trying to find out if using those cover sheets speeds up processing time and what's the reason behind some people's LOR's being processed faster. Thanks.

Yes, I used the AMCAS cover sheet/ request form for each letter. I also typed in the Letter ID number when Interfolio asked for it right before queuing the letter for delivery.

I also used the AMCAS letter request form when sending my letters.
