AMCAS MCAT Test Date Update

Hi everyone,

I originally put on my AMCAS that I would be retaking the MCAT July 30th, but I ended up taking it August 12. Today I realized that I must not have "re-submitted" my application when I changed my test date to August 12.

I made the change today, but should I email each individual school to let them know to expect a score from August 12, or is the AMCAS update sufficient??

It depends, is your AMCAS verified?? If it isn't then what you did will suffice and they will know to wait for that score. IF it is verified already then you may need to contact schools individually because otherwise they will wait and wait and no score will come in...it could also be something that may be asked on a secondary so you could update it then.

Actually now that I think of it, even if it is verified you probably won't have to contact schools individually because AMCAS sends update reports to each school on changes made to primaries. Good luck!
