Hello, I realized I made a mistake in my AMCAS. I combined my shadowing experiences and provided contact information for the first shadowing experience in the box, but forgot to add the contact information in the description below for the two other shadowing expeiriences.

I was wondering if it would be worth contacting each school and providing them with contact information, or, at worse, withdraw the application.

Any advice would be appreciated! 🙂

Do not withdraw your application.

How many shadowing hours would each of your Contacts verify, especially the already-listed one? What specialties does each one represent?

@Catalystik @Moko

One was for an ICU shadowing program hosted by NIH which I did for over my two years there (~200 hours). The other was for the University of Texas Southwestern virtual shadowing which I started in October, 2020 (~60 hours). The virtual shadowing includes a more variety of specialties (ex. family medicine, sports medicine, psychiatry etc.)

How should I best respond to this situation?

Sorry, I may have misread the question. For the shadowing that has contact information, it was shadowing a neurology department in Japan and was 300 hours.

Personally I wouldn't even worry about this. If someone is trying to contact them down the line they'll ask you for their contact info. Or if you named the physicians you shadowed they'll just look up their professional contact info. I don't think anyone will think you're making things up or hiding things just because there was only one contact info slot.

@Screamapillar Thank you very much for your reassurance. Unfortunately, I also did not name the physicians in the ICU and virtual shadowing as both are run by a number of physicians... The ICU program I think is run by the Office of Intramural Training at NIH.

I would be happy to provide the information in the future if requested, but I was wondering if it would be better to contact schools now and let them know beforehand?

I'm no expert but I just wouldn't say anything about something this minor. If they want contact info down the line they'll check with you. For my Awards section I had a bunch of varied awards from different orgs so I put myself as the contact, if they want to confirm any of them I'm guessing they'll check with me.

@Screamapillar Thank you. I'm quite unsure about this so I just want to make sure everything is fine with adcoms, and that it won't be considered sloppy or come off the wrong way. Maybe it's best to wait for them to contact me if they need the information.
