Hi,

I have three questions:

1) To verify the AMCAS application, I have to send my transcript and letters of rec and MCAT score to the AMCAS address. It will takes around 3 weeks to verify.

2) For the letter of rec I am using the letter packet option. Do I have to send just one packet and one transcript or the same amount of documents that matches the number of schools I am applying to.

3) AMCAS will open in early May but can only be submitted on June 1st

Thankyou!

1) If you're asking if it will take 3 weeks to verify, it depends. For example, the holidays are coming up (like Thanksgiving) so verification time might be slightly slow or fast?

2) Send one copy and AMCAS will send multiple copies for you to the schools that you applied. (but this can vary once you get secondaries. for secondaries if a school asks for a transcript or letter of rec then you do need to send one specific copy to that one specific school)

3) If time hasn't changed since I applied then yes June 1st is the magic day to send your app! good luck 👍

Letters of recommendation aren't needed to verify your application. They can be added after you have been verified.

The new AMCAS application will be accessible sometime in May. If you apply at the earliest in the first week of June it can take only a few days to complete verification. It takes longer and longer as the cycle progresses. In past years it has taken 5-6 weeks by the end of the submission time, though things seem to be going faster this year than ever before.

I don't really see any questions in this post but I'll do my best:

1. I'm not really sure when you're applying (next cycle?). If you're question is about how long it'll take to get verified, it's all about how early you do it. I submitted AMCAS on the first day possible and it was verified the next afternoon. Your MCAT scores are received by AMCAS automatically. Letters of rec are sent to the AMCAS address. Having your primary verified and having it all complete are two different things. I remember being "verified" in june but not having my committee letter from my school until july sometime.

2. Just send one packet and one transcript. They'll do the rest.

3. Statement #3 is correct I believe. You can start filling out an application in early may, you can submit it to AMCAS in early June, but they don't actually send it to schools until late June sometime.

Hope this helps!
