I have heard rumor on this board about this question, but have been unable confim it on the AMCAS site. So I was wondering if anyone coould help.

If I took a psychology class during undergrad and received a C. Then took the same psychology class post bacc and received an A, would AMCAS replace the C with an A during calculation of my cummulative GPA? If so, would it matter if the second class was taken at another school?

This is a guess but since you took the classes at different schools, technically they are not the same class and will probably both be included in your academic history and GPA calculation.

I think the only time a grade for a class is replaced is if you failed it and took it again. In that case, they average out the failing grade and the new grade (so if you got an D and an A, that's a 2.5).

i do believe amcas expert alex99 is correct 😉

What if I were to retake a class that I failed during undergrad during post bacc, at the same school, will the second grade still replace the first?
