AMCAS Submission Question

The AMCAS applications open up for submission on June 2nd. Does this mean that apps can be submitted to medical schools or just AMCAS? When do medical schools typically start reviewing apps?

In the past there is typically a delay between when the apps are submitted to AMCAS and when they are transmitted to schools - usually a few weeks, i.e., the schools will receive the apps in the end of June. I have no idea if that's how the process is working this year, though.

Note that some schools will still send secondaries even before the app is transmitted.

I have been told the medical schools will not receive them until July this year.
